It’s been two weeks since I launched Lil' Olive Tree, and I’ve already learned so much since I started. I’ve even met some amazing and awe-inspiring people in the blogging community. Last week, I was nominated for TWO awards. First was the Blogger Recognition Award, by Lydia over on at www.liddielooandisadoratoo.wordpress.com. Now, I am even more overwhelmed to announce that I have been nominated by Chantal from www.growinggirlswithcurls.com for the Liebster Award.
Chantal is a strong, young, work-from-home single mother of two adorable little girls. She blogs about her growth journey as a millennial mom and her path to becoming financially independent. I love that she includes motherhood and being a strong role model for her daughters in her blog. Her and her daughters also have amazing natural curls by the way, and she discusses the care of such awesome hair!

What is the Liebster Award?
The Liebster Award is an award given to relatively new bloggers who have been working hard, are extremely passionate about their writing and reaching their goals, and are truly inspiring their growing following of readers. The Liebster Award, like the Blogger Recognition Award, is recognized by fellow bloggers in the blogging community as an honorable badge of accomplishment. Nominees are choosen by previous Liebster Award nominees, as the cycle of supporting one another goes on and on.
The rules for the Liebster Award are as follows:
Write a post showing your award.
Thank the blogger who nominated you, by mentioning them and sharing about their blog in your acceptance post. Remember to leave a link to their blog in your post.
Answer the questions the blogger who nominated you gives you.
Nominate 5-10 bloggers who you think deserve this award.
Let the bloggers know that you nominated them.
Give them questions of your own to answer.
The following questions were given to me by Chantal:
I couldn't just pick one thing I am passionate about, which is why I choose to create a lifestyle blog. I started blogging as a means to share my experiences and research on the things that I'm passionate about. God, family, marriage, children, and natural living. I wanted a way to be able to share these passions while continuing to stay home, homeschooling my children with the potential to bring in some income for my family.
My goal in creating Lil' Olive Tree is to share my journeys in life and the teeny bit of wisdom I've gained along the way. I choose the name "Lil' Olive Tree" because of its biblical symbolism. David says in Psalm 52:8: "But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever." (KJV). The ESV translation says, "I trust in the steadfast love of God for ever and ever." God's love is the only love that is unfailing, ever merciful, and full of grace so freely given if we trust in Him and let Him lead our lives. I want my family to be like an olive tree, with roots firm in His WORD, each of us a branch that grows and learns through scripture each day, and reaps good fruit out in the world by loving and serving others for His name's sake. Glory be to God! One way to serve others that God has placed on my heart to do is to spread information about how to nourish our lives physically and spiritually, which is where the tagline, "Nourish the Body, Nourish the Soul" comes from. I hope to help bring like-minded people together for the sake of living healthier, more natural lives, and loving one another. I look forward to sharing useful information, my experiences, scripture, recipes, homeschool tips, product reviews and recommendations.
I don't really watch a ton of tv, but my favorite all time tv show would have to be Friends. I have probably seen every single episode and can quote most of them lol. It just never gets old!
I am inspired by so many. I don't just have one favorite, but some women that truly inspire me the most and I like to keep up on are Jennifer Smith from www.unveiledwife.com, Lysa TerKeurst from www.proverbs31.org, and Jolene Engle from www.joleneengle.com. I am also majorly influenced by Katie Wells from www.wellnessmama.com, and Kelly Bonyata from www.kellymom.com. I aspire to be like these amazing women, and for Lil' Olive Tree to one day accomplish half of what these amazing websites have, would just be a dream come true.
Probably to be able to multiply the benefits of the little sleep I get to equal that of a full 8-12 hours nights rest! Sleep deprivation is getting to me a bit much lately lol.
Well, I've only published 11 so far (including this one), and I have a few I started or just need some tweaking before I publish, but I'd have to say my favorite post I published so far is Love and Expectations. I really opened up and gave the world a peek inside my life and my heart. Marriage is such an important ministry to me. My own being the most important to me of course, and just marriage in general. Marriage is the biggest target of the enemy. And that is because marriage is a huge area that God's glory can shine the brightest!
The bloggers I have chosen to nominate for the Liebster Award are:
Congratulations! My questions for you all are:
1. What inspired you to start your blog?
2. Who is your biggest (present-day, living) influence?
3. What is the most recent book you read?
4. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
5. What would you say is the most extreme thing you've ever done?
6. If you could sit down and have lunch with anyone from history (living or deceased), who would it be? And why?
7. What is your favorite blog post that YOU wrote?
Congratulations again to all of you! Each one of you that I have nominated truly deserve the recognition for your inspiring work. Don't for get to pay it forward to other bloggers, ad keep the award recognitions going! Thank you and God bless!
